This design was completed for ISO50′s US Dollar Redesign Contest. Each bill features a political figure who was not a politician. It seems that there is a strong sentiment in this country that government exists as a seperate entity that controls the people. With this in mind, I set out to find examples of citizens who weilded strong political power. I then took the star from the American flag as a symbol of equality. On our flag, each star is identical, none are made special dependent on the state they represent. With this in mind, I used the stars to create a symbol relating to the cause of the person featured on the bill.

Nice, I like the overall layout and the size of the bills too. The colors overall are nice too.
By the way, have they judged that competition yet? I submitted a design myself but haven’t heard or seen anything posted on ISO50 about it…

Thanks Richard and Ed.
In response to your question about ISO50, I was waiting for them to put up something about it before I posted this, but I got impatient. I haven’t seen anything about it since their initial posting of the competition.
